Saturday, April 11, 2026: WEIGH IN!!! Weigh-in will begin at 3pm! There will be live music, raffles, vendors, big fish and big fun!

As many of you know, this tournament directly benefits “Ready for Life”, a 501(c) (3), dedicated to helping former foster youth make a successful transition to adulthood. Through their local, solution-based skill center they provide support, resources, and guidance to inspire and empower former foster youth (and their children). They assist in the areas of homelessness prevention, education, employment, lifeline support networks, mental health, emergency needs, mentoring, and meals. They are also a vital part of our volunteer staff at our events.

Coastal Conservation Association Florida announced that beginning with its 12th year, the Florida STAR Tournament presented by Yamaha Motor Company will become a competition dedicated exclusively to youth anglers ages 6–17. Participants simply fish over the summer, photograph their saltwater catch, and submit entries for a chance to win part of $100,000 in college scholarships awarded through a random drawing—adding to the more than $1.2 million already awarded to youth anglers.

The tournament also features exciting prize divisions, including the Teen Challenge Division where one teen can win a new boat, the Most Fish Division with prizes such as a boat, kayak, or paddleboard, and the Trash Division that rewards kids for collecting garbage while fishing and earning community service hours. Running from Memorial Day Weekend (May 23) through Labor Day (September 7, 2026), the event—supported by partners like the Guy Harvey Foundation, Realtree Fishing, and Suncoast Classic Events—costs just $20 to enter and includes a one-year youth membership with CCA Florida.

The Suncoast Kingfish Classic will have a trash division where you can weigh in trash collected from the water during the tournament fishing day on April 11, 2026, in support of the CCA STAR initiative to create cleaner waters and beaches.
